Roots causing a hazard on the pavement
Reported via desktop in the Roots causing hazard on the pavement category anonymously at 11:04, Tuesday 14 January 2025
Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.
The trunk of the tree has lifted the tarmac around its base. The roots are now lifting a kerb stone and due to the shade from the tree it has created copious amounts of algae on the pavement which is very slippy this time of year. Also, the pavement surface is very uneven. People have to walk on the road to avoid this area of pavement. Thankfully, this is not a busy highway but as each year goes by the damage to the pavement is getting progressively worse and I fear someone new to the area may have an accident.
