Pedestrian crossing activates with no one pressing the button

Reported via mobile in the Poor operation or delays category anonymously at 08:05, Sunday 12 January 2025

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

Pedestrian crossing button appears to be constantly pressed/faulty. It activates as soon as the light for pedestrians turns red without anyone being there, over and over again. This is becoming an issue as the audible crossing warning is loud and we live right by it.

I think I first noticed the issue Friday night, but it may have been going on for longer as it explains why the traffic light is always red when driving through.

The traffic light is the closest one to The Heart shopping centre. The only one with a pedestrian crossing.
