Concerns about speeding, St George’s Avenue, Weybridge

Reported via mobile in the Concern about speeding traffic category anonymously at 22:02, Friday 10 January 2025

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

I have concerns about speeding traffic in a 30 mph zone in the area of Weybridge, St George’s Avenue. Post code KT13 0BS. It is an extremely busy road with cars speeding up to 50 mph sometimes more from what I’ve seen. My concern is, that it is a very family orientated area with young children and mothers with babies. There is not a single crossing on the whole of St Georges Avenue apart from the junctions at the start/end of the road, where you could cross the road safely and comfortably. I witnessed a mother pushing her baby in a pushchair almost being hit by a car speeding as there is no crossings, pedestrian crossings or controlled speed limits on this road. As a mother myself with a 4 month old living off St George’s Avenue, I often see speeding on a daily basis and feel this is a very dangerous road which needs to be investigated. I feel strongly that St George’s Avenue, weybridge would benefit from speed cameras, speed bumps or a safe crossing.
