Sycamore tree growing on verge is causing a signifcant safety issue

Reported via desktop in the Roots causing damage to private property category anonymously at 00:04, Tue 10 December 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

This tree has been growing rapidly in recent years adjacent to the garden walls for number 2 and 3 Charlton Kings, Weybridge Surrey KT13 9QW. A recent visit by Emma Carne from Elmbridge Building Control was made after the existing wall for number 2 had fallen due to being undermined by the roots of this tree. There was significant safety concerns as observed by Emma Carne. Further the tree has damaged my (no. 3) garden wall, and it is now unstable and presents a and additional safety issue. The tree needs to be removed before no.2's wall is replaced within the next month. I would like to request that Surrey CC visit me (no.3) to inspect and agree on its removal asap. The tree is situated on the verge/pavement edge, which is council owned and affecting our private property. I believe the tree has grown from seed circa 10-12 years ago.
