Residents rights being ignored

Reported via desktop in the Utility company roadworks category anonymously at 19:55, Tue 26 November 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

I must register the strongest complaint possible regarding the continual excavations in Wharf Road Frimley Green leading into Lake Road Deepcut.

I am a resident in Wharf Road and right now SG Utilities workers are progressing down Wharf Road digging out the trench, again, that traverses the entire length of the road. This has got to be the fourth time this has been dug out with all the ensuing upheaval, noise, dirt and disruption.

Why have residents not been informed of these works that will;

Disrupt the access to their driveways? create noise disturbance from vehicles that are also sounding their horns because of traffic control? create higher levels of dust particles because of dirt and mud on the road being blown into the air affecting people with COPD and other health conditions? risk disruption of gas and water supplies as was the case before? There are Regulations that govern these activities. Please ensure that they are being followed. I do not believe that they are!

The road is an absolute mess and is cracking up because of these continual works and the excessive number of over weight heavy contractors lorries that traverse the road every day to building sites in Deepcut. The road certainly needs resurfacing now.

I await your urgent response with interest
