No pedestrian crossing to green and nursery

Reported via mobile in the Road safety improvement category anonymously at 00:13, Wednesday 20 November 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

The new roundabout works have placed higher new kerbs. There are no dropped kerbs to facilitate access to the green or the old school building accessed via the green. In 2025 a nursury will be opening in that building, children in buggies need to get to it safely requiring a crossing and dropped kerb across studios road. There is no safe crossing on the Squires Bridge Rd to the green and old school building either. The expanded shepperton studios development means traffic will increase, it was already difficult to cross. This is a new junction yet it is not reflecting the walkable neighbourhood policy of SCC. The old school building and green are community venues used by infants and the elderley yet are cut off from safe access by foot or with a buggy or wheelchair.
