Unacceptable and dangerous road blockage caused by Godalming Station traffic

Good Evening All,

This evening I was delayed picking up my 9 year old daughter from her Choir group at a Touch of Musicality on Mill Lane Godalming I was unable to reach her due to stationary traffic caused by people waiting for the train to arrive at Godalming Station.

Traffic was stationary back to Station Road due to people queuing waiting to pick up people from the train that hadn’t arrived. This is not the first time that the road has become blocked and impassable due to queuing cars waiting for a train to arrive.

This has been caused by the ill thought through change to the road layout to make it one way and the removal of any waiting space outside the station.

In the event of a medical emergency or fire, emergency services would not have been able to get past the traffic and therefore this is dangerous to residents and workers on Mill lane and for travellers at the station.

A solution should be sought to this issue before it leads to something worse than a late pick up for a child.
