Overgrown vegetation blocking ~50% of heavily used pavement
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown tree blocking the pavement category anonymously at 12:16, Thu 7 November 2024
Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.
There is a section of pavement at the junction of Oakshade Road and The Ridgeway (between the two entrances) which is significantly (~50%) overgrown by various trees/bushes. The edge of the pavement, I believe, should be in line with the white wooden "fencing" seen at both entrances to The Ridgeway. As it stands currently the pavement is severely restricted on this section and is heavily used at times in the mornings and afternoons by children and parents walking to and from The Royal Kent School further along Oakshade Road. With limited space available and people travelling in both directions the end result is children and parents alike often forced into the road to get by at significant risk to personal safety. I believe the responsibility for managing this vegetation lies with The Ridgeway Residents Association however they have clearly allowed this vegetation to over grow to the extent it is now blocking roughly half of the available pavement width. I am requesting that a council officer investigates the issue as a matter of urgency and contacts the residents association to advise them to remove the overgrown vegetation and restore the pavement to its full width without delay.
