Concerns about speeding traffic and missing speed limit sign.

Reported via mobile in the Concern about speeding traffic category anonymously at 18:01, Tuesday 8 October 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

As people drive onto Merle Common Road from Red Lane/Caterfield Lane end, they are not slowing down and hence are entering Merle Common at speed. It is used as a cut through. I believe the speed limit to be 40mph for Merle Common Road but there is not a speed limit sign at this end of the road to show drivers this. Or, if there is, then it is very small and not at all obvious. It is getting incredibly dangerous to enter and exit the shared driveway to the houses Little Earls and Orchards as the driveway is just after a bend. It has also got faster since the road was resurfaced. It will be even more dangerous in winter. Please can you replace the speed limit sign at the end of the road or add a larger one. Thank you.
