Risk of falling branches, dead wood, unblanaced Oak Tree
Reported via mobile in the Risk of falling branch category anonymously at 16:12, Tuesday 8 October 2024
Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.
The Oak Tree located on Kings Cross Lane in South Nutfield is on highways maintained council land. It has been felled historically, but only on the side that directly overhangs the road. The tree is now heavily unbalanced with extensive long branches that overhang our property and the telegraph poles and wires coming into our house. Many of the branches are dead wood, which falls off in large chunks frequently - posing a real hazard to life should one fall onto a member of the family. I would appreciate someone from the council team coming to assess how best to take these branches back sooner rather than later please. It could also obviously damage our property and the cabling coming into our house - but the danger to life is far more significant than this. It only appears to have been tended to, by you, on the side that overhangs the main road.
