Road Closure

Reported via desktop in the Utility company roadworks category anonymously at 10:13, Wednesday 2 October 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

With no advanced notification Thames Water have closed the A325 N & S just south of the Coxbtidge Roundabout.

I have spoken to the crew from Cappagh and their paperwork shows E.Dig.

At 9.30 am the road had been closed for over 2.5 hours - all through the morning rush. The crew say they are waiting for machines and materials that can't get through the traffic.

There is no sign of any emergency leak or subsidence.

Do Thames / Cappagh have powers to close a road as vital to Bordon and South Farnham because of a bogus emergency.

If this is a genuine emergency, then why is it not reported on your website.

The costs and hazards associated with thus management are huge and the ramifications need to be huge too.
