Unnecessary Road Closure

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.
Dear Sir/Madam
Can you please explain why SES Water has been granted a permit to close Chapel Lane in Westhumble for an entire week to implement a new water connection to an outbuilding in Camilla Drive, Westhumble? The works have been largely unattended with no presence at all by SES Water on Tuesday 24th September, and minimal presence today 25th September. The works could have been completed within 24 hours and so a permit with a 48 hour road closure would have provided sufficient contingency for completion. Please can the council justify the economic and environmental impact that has been experienced by the residents of Westhumble for the closure of the primary access to the village?
Furthermore, the new water supply almost certainly could have been supplied to the outbuilding from the main property on Camilla Drive without any inconvenience to the residents of Westhumble. Can Surrey County Council please provide evidence of the due diligence undertaken by the council that justifies the approval for the works.
Yours faithfully,
Charlie Rothwell
