Danger to public footpah/Slippery surface and falling branches

Reported via desktop in the Risk of falling branch category anonymously at 16:24, Wednesday 25 September 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

I am writing to highlight an urgent safety concern regarding the tree overhanging the footpath adjacent to the front/side garden, which is directly alongside the struggle pathway/shortcut. This path, heavily used by the community, including students from the Priory School, poses increasing risks as we approach Autumn.

In addition to falling leaves creating a slippery surface, which will be particularly hazardous given the steepness of the path, there is also the risk of falling branches. These could cause significant danger to pedestrians, especially in bad weather.

I believe addressing this issue will require the expertise of a specialist and may involve temporarily closing the pathway. Could you please provide details on the council’s plan to ensure that the tree is trimmed to prevent potential accidents and safeguard the public?

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
