Blocked drains on Westcott Street

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain or gully category anonymously at 11:27, Monday 23 September 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

Both drains at the bottom of Westcott Street are always blocked. The one on the right as you look at the bridge leading around to Balchins Lane at the back of The Granary is especially bad. We clear it as much as we can but the bank behind it is steadily taking over and it needs digging out properly. On Friday there was a huge flood with a river of water cascading down Westcott Street, with no where to go other than turn right into the road leading to Pippbrook Place, down our drive at The Dairy, flooding out the garage and only an inch from coming in the front door. I have video footage of this if you want proof. Had it not stopped raining or if we had been out and not there to sweep, the house would have flooded. The problem is exacerbated because there are simply not enough drains in Westcott Street to cope with water flowing down the road and all the run off from all the driveways. The road floods even without very heavy rain.
