Poor layout of traffic lights results in cars moving over crossings when green pedestrian light shows

Reported via desktop in the Road safety improvement category anonymously at 15:58, Friday 20 September 2024

Sent to Surrey County Council less than a minute later.

At this crossroads, vehicles approaching from under the train bridge are regularly continuing over the stop line when the exit is not clear and stopping on top of (worn out) "keep clear" markings. Eventually, the pedestrian light goes green so people start crossing, but traffic will try to move and not give way when pedestrians are crossing. This is because they have passed the stop line before the exit is clear and cannot see the red light for them, resulting in them continuing to move when traffic in front has cleared, despite the green pedestrian showing.
